SPRING SHOW LOCATION
Pioneer Heritage Middle School
1649 High Shoals Drive
All students will sit in the audience during the rehearsal. There will be assigned areas for each class. As you arrive with your child, take him/her to see the photographer. He will take individual and group shots of your class/siblings. This year our photographer is offering digital photos. Photos will be posted on the photographer’s website and you will be able to download every full-sized, high resolution image taken of your child in each costume. This includes group, sibling, and BFF photos (each person in the photos must pay individually). If purchased the day of the rehearsal, the digital photo package is $50. The Bella Mia photographers always takes numerous photos of each child, and they spend ample time getting great personality shots. You will have the rights to the photos for printing, emailing, and sharing.
***Place your advanced order prior to May 10th and receive digital copies of all your dancer’s photos for only $30!
When it is the group’s turn to line up, the volunteer mom will walk with them to the backstage area so they can line up on stage. There will be a poster on the side of the stage listing the order of the dances. Do not panic if some students were missed for individual photos. The photographers will be available all day, and they will take photos during and after the rehearsal.
Once they have performed their ballet dance, the group will return to the audience. They will need to change into their KDC shared tap wardrobe. The dressing room manager will be positioned to the side of the stage. The volunteer mom will count how many students are in the group and pick up all the supplies for the entire group from the dressing room manager.
After everyone is dressed, you may visit the photographer for individual and group photos. The students will be taken to the backstage area one dance before their tap number. They will return to the audience after their tap dance. The volunteer mom will collect the KDC shared wardrobe and return it to the dressing room manager. If anyone missed getting an individual photo taken, they may hold on to their shared wardrobe until after they’ve had a chance to see the photographer. The shared wardrobe is used throughout the day for each of the shows. Please do not take any of the shared wardrobe pieces home!!! Parents in later shows get very upset with us when their child is missing a tap costume because someone from an earlier show took it home.
All of the students in the audience will need to go backstage prior to the finale. The volunteer mom will stay with the group backstage after the finale, and we will have one parent for each child walk backstage to pick up their child.
SHOW DAY: DRESSING ROOM – BACKSTAGE PROCEDURES
The dressing room will be organized so each class has an assigned area with a chair for each child. All children are to arrive dressed and ready in their ballet costume. Bring your child into the dressing room, find their seating area and help them put the finishing touches on the costume, hair, make-up, etc. Each parent should take their child to the restroom before the show.
Just before the show begins, the other parents are asked to find their seats in the audience, while the volunteer moms stay in the dressing room.
There will be reserved seating for Tiny Tot students and their families in the auditorium. Tiny Tot students will not go to the dressing room, instead they will sit with their family during the show, waiting for their turn to dance.
We can’t wait to see everyone on stage!!!
Try on costume. Take in girls' costumes at side or crotch seams to improve the fit if necessary. You may press the satin fabric and ribbons with a warm iron.
Put your child's name on all leotards, tights, costumes and shoes.
Dance and Tiny Tots Girls should arrive at both the rehearsal and the show wearing their ballet costume and white tights. Dance girls also need to bring the finale tutu and hair clip that is included in their costume kit. No panties are necessary under costumes. Ballet and tap shoes are recommended on stage.

Pick up your child's shoes from school after their last class just before dress rehearsal. Leave elastic in tap shoes; we will provide bows that will be affixed to the elastic for the performance.
Boys wear tennis or ballet shoes for ballet dances. Tap shoes are recommended for tap dances, but not required.
Tiny Tot boys and girls may use tennis shoes for all their dances and tumbling.

The volunteer mom for each group will pick up and return the shared KDC tap costumes from the KDC dressing room manager.
ON SHOW DAY
Pack your child's full costume, bobby pins for head pieces, dance shoes, toys and accessories in the bag provided marked with your child's name so the backstage crew can quickly find your child's things for costume changes. Put all items in one bag to avoid possible mix-ups. Include a coloring book or small toy for your child's entertainment while waiting backstage during the show.
Apply light make-up at home before the show (optional). Girl's hair may be done any style.
Securely pin all head pieces to the hair (Flowers on the right side). Bring extra bobby pins. KDC does not have extra accessories – please do not loose or break the items given to you.
Arrive 15 minutes before show time with your child fully dressed and ready for the show. If you arrive much earlier, you may encounter confusion from the prior show.
Take your child to the restroom! Then take your child backstage and find their assigned place in the dressing room. Help your child add the final touches for the first dance. Stay until the show is about to begin, then join your family in the audience and enjoy the show!
Please do not take the KDC shared tap wardrobe with you. We supply them to lower your costume cost. The shared tap costumes are used by dancers in other shows throughout the day.
