The KDC Spring Show is an informal, low-pressure program offered to KDC Dance, Gymnastics and Tiny Tot students. During the show, the children's dance teacher is nearby to encourage and help them. We don't ask the children to memorize complicated routine. Rather, we focus on the development of technique along with enjoyment of dance and music. Each show will last about 1 hour, with every child participating in at least three dances
A home practice audio CD of the children's Spring Show songs, music and routines is available for the Dance Class students. These CD's help build the children's confidence when preparing for the show. The more familiar the children are with the material, the more comfortable they'll be on stage.
An auditorium fee is charged for each family, which provides for free admission. No tickets are required.
Dance girls get a fancy ballet costume with tutu, tap leotard, tiara and props. Tiny Tot girls get a leotard and tutu, plus props. All boys get a sequin vest, tap dance accessories, sequin bow tie, and props.
Also, to keep costs down, we provided shared props and wardrobe accessories for dancers to borrow during the show in addition to their take-home costumes and props.
Returning students receive awards at the show for their number of years with KDC. Plus, every child receives a participation award.
When there is a conflict with other family plans, students may transfer to a different show at a different time and location.
Each show lasts about 1 hour, with every child participating in at least three dances: tap, ballet or jazz, plus the grand finale for Dance students, and a dance routine, a tumbling routine, plus the Grand Finale for the Tiny Tot students.
